The first graders went to the Civic Center on Thursday to see The Cat in the Hat. A big THANKS to our parent volunteers.

Thanks to Miss Saylor, the Van Meter first graders had the first 3 rows!

The kids were very entertained and very respectful during the performance.

On Friday, all Van Meter students paid their respect to Officer Carlos Puente-Morales.

The students were very respectful during the processional.

Iowa Assessments will be taken this week for 2nd-5th grade students.  Some of the men and women from the Drake basketball team came to our school to kick-off a great week of testing.  The kids were entertained by some dunks and a couple of games of knockout.
