In Guidance on Friday, Mrs. Skahill read the class the book above. It has a great message of how helping others can be easily spread around.
The students made a web to show how lots of people can be touched by someone else's good deed.
In Unit 4 math, the first graders are learning about measurement. They measured items in the classroom using cubes.
They also used paperclips to measure things. They did an activity on Friday, explaining why someone should use a cube over a pattern block square to measure objects.
I read the book, Pout-Pout Fish Goes to School to the class on Thursday. It has a great message for the kids about not giving up! We talk about that a lot in class and how things may be challenging, but you keep going!
Here are the vocabulary words for lesson 8.
