The first graders did an excellent job at the music concert on Thursday night!  They were excited all week to perform and they did not disappoint.  I'm so proud of them!

The first graders had a lesson over bullying during guidance this week.  As a class, they came up with an acrostic poem to show their support of no bullying.

The kids wrapped up Unit 8 by creating Sticky Note Fraction Creatures in math.  They had to write down the fraction of the 2 colors.  There were some really creative ones.  We will start Unit 9 after spring break.

Here is a spanish update from Mrs. Newell.
 ¡Buenas tardes!
I wanted to share with you all the song we have been working on this week.  Most of my younger students and some of my older students have requested that I send you the link so they can listen to it at home.  It is a really fun, comprehensible song with a LOT of repetition which is KEY for 2nd language acquisition.

You can find the translation on my webpage, if you'd like to have a look, too.  Careful, it's catchy and you'll find yourself humming it when you least expect it.  ;)

  • Lesson 17 Spelling test will be on Friday.
  • Reading homework will be due on Friday.
  • Please have your child read the next story in their fluency packet during spring break.
  • These sites would be great to use over break.
  • Have a great break!
