The first graders continued to work on fractions this week.  They used pattern blocks to help them determine how many parts there were in the shape.

They also used geoboards to make shapes and then divide them into equal parts.  The class took unit 8 math test on Thursday and did very well on it.  We will start unit 9 on Monday.  They will have math homework this week, so check their folders.

We had some more 3rd graders come to our room this week to give us safety tips on thunderstorms.  The boys did a great job!

Our cadet, Kendall brought in a little surprise for us this week.  The class went wild when she took Caliente out of her carrier.  The first graders wanted her to stay the rest of the day, which would have been fun, but I think it would have been a little distracting.  :)

  • Spelling test on Friday.
  • Tuesday, April 15th at 6:30 will be the first grade music program.  Please have your child in our classroom by 6:15.  There will be parent volunteers to help get them in stacking order.
  • May 9th is Puppy Dog Relays.
  • May 16th is our field trip to the Blank Park Zoo.
