You may have noticed the large puzzle outside of the elementary office.  We are excited to announce that we have met our school wide goal.  If each class followed the Bulldogs Beliefs of "Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Safe" they would earn a puzzle piece.  We have completed our puzzle!  We will be celebrating this goal next Friday January, 24th.  The students will be able to wear their pajamas all day and then at 2:45-3:15 they will be watching a movie and eating popcorn.

The first graders were learning about doubles and doubles + 1 facts this week.  We will be finishing up with Unit 5 next week.

All of the first graders listened to the book, The Snowman.  They have been working on a writing activity to go along with the book.  They are writing bold beginnings, mighty middles, and excellent endings.

The first graders have been reading non fiction passages about manatees and butterflies.  They were working on finding details in the text to answer questions.

  • We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Wednesday, January 22nd.    Our party will be from 9:30-10:45.  Thank you to the parents that signed up to donate items for our party.  Please send those items with your child by Wednesday.
  • Spelling test will be on Friday.
  • Pajama Party on Friday.
  • I will be updating Infinite Campus weekly for behavior.  Please check it out.  If you cannot get logged on or have any other questions, please let me know.
  • The first graders will be going on a field trip Thursday, January 30th to see a Junie B. matinee in Ames.  We will be leaving at 10:30 and your child will need to bring a disposable sack lunch.  I'll be sending out more details this week.
